Who is your advisor and what are you studying?
Dr. Chadi Sayde and Dr. Barbara Doll. I will be studying innovative methods for characterizing the interaction between surface and subsurface flow on regenerative storm-water conveyance systems. By employing a fast scanning laser and fiber-optic cable buried under the structure, we hope to compare field data to analytical models revealing new insights to the benefits these structures have on the environment.

What first made you interested in this field?
Growing up on a pristine river in rural Oregon, from a young age I had a deep appreciation for preserving the natural environment both for the intrinsic beauty it possesses but also for its function as a renewable resource.

What do you like most about BAE as a field or the department?
BAE brings together many different branches of science and engineering in order to make a more sustainable future. This department fosters a deeper understanding of how to apply these concepts and put them into practice.

What is a little known or fun fact about you?
My first research paper as a first author is about to reach 1,500 viewers!
