Carmichael PSE and BAE Endowments

We are excited to be able to recognize two scholarships established in February of 2024 by Carson and Debbie Carmichael.

Carson and Debbie have established the Carmichael Family Scholarship in Paper Science and Engineering, where Carson received his degree in 1976 AND the Carmichael Family Scholarship in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, where Debbie was the SECOND FEMALE to receive such a degree in 1979.

The PSE scholarship has expressed preferences for first generation students, those pursuing a second degree in chemical engineering and/or students with demonstrated financial need.

The BAE scholarship has preferences for first generation students and/or students with demonstrated financial need.

Carson graduated from Wake Forest University’s School of Law in 1980. Debbie and Carson enjoyed careers in their respective fields while raising a family in the Raleigh area.  Carson has been an avid volunteer on the scholarship committee.
