About

The WASTE Lab – Waste Applied in Science Technology & Engineering was established in 2008 under the belief that marrying sustainability with food processing, catalysts and effective waste management is the path to innovative and environmentally friendly engineering solutions. Waste is a pressing economic, environmental and political issue; and unfortunately, it’s inevitable. All processes have waste, from the cars we drive to the clothes we wear. Through research, outreach, and teaching activities, the WASTE lab aims to minimize the production of waste, and start treating the end product of many processes as the beginning to solving problems our society faces.
