Graduate Student of the Week: Enrique Pena

Who is your advisor and what are you studying?
Dr. Jason Ward. M.S. in Bio and Ag Engineering.

I am studying the different applications of precision farming that are applied to cotton production.

What first made you interested in this field?
I saw the opportunity to learn about the latest technology in precision agriculture and apply it in developing countries like mine that are in great need of young professionals in the agricultural sector.

What do you like most about BAE as a field or the department?
The familiy-like environment is, by far, the best thing about this department. I am also very much enjoying the amount of hands-on experience I am receiving as a masters student. Finally, the competence that this department shows as a whole pushes me to become the professional I desire to be.

What is a little known or fun fact about you?
Even though I am left-handed, I play the guitar as if I am right-handed!
