John Classen, animal waste management & nutrient recovery

What first made you interested in this field?

I learned that a major source of eutrophication in North Carolina is directly/indirectly from animal waste so I wanted to work on the problem at the source.

What do you like most about BAE?

The diversity of study and “hands on” approach to learning

What is a little known fact about you?

My mother is Austrian and most of her family still lives there.
