Wellness Day

As NC State celebrates Red and White Week, we also want to take time to pause and address a difficult and stressful time affecting our campus. Now more than ever, we must take care of ourselves and each other. On Thursday, November 3, the university will observe a Wellness Day. We encourage the NC State community to use this time to take a breath and check in with friends, family and yourselves.

Below is a list of free activities that will be taking place on Wellness Day to help support our Wolfpack community and several self-paced resources:

Open Recreation Activities

  • Wellness and Recreation Center, Basketball Courts
  • 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Wellness and Recreation will be providing extended open recreation hours for drop-in activities, including badminton, volleyball, pickleball, table tennis and tennis. Learn more here.

Mind/Body Classes

  • Wellness and Recreation Center, 3150
  • Classes available:
    • 8 – 9 a.m. | Yoga Flow
    • 2 – 3 p.m | Yoga Nidra
    • 4 – 5 p.m. | Yoga Flow
    • 5:15 – 6:15 p.m. | Power Yoga
    • 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. | Yoga Restore
  • While all Wellness and Recreation group fitness classes are free to attend, advance registration is required to save your spot in class. Registration for classes will open 72 hours prior to the start of the class. Register here.

Relaxation Station

  • Wellness and Recreation Center, 2150/2158
  • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Stop by to relax, reset and recharge your inner batteries. Enjoy coloring, aromatherapy and mood boosting snacks to help you unwind and destress. Learn more here.

Walk-in Flu Vaccine Clinic

  • Wellness and Recreation Center, 1150
  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Flu vaccinations are available for students, faculty and staff on campus at our walk-in vaccine clinics. No appointment is necessary at the clinics, however you will need to upload a copy of your insurance card to the HealthyPack Portal prior to your arrival at the clinic using the insurance tab at the top of your HealthyPack Portal. Student Organization Round Table

  • Talley Student Union, 4251
  • 10 a.m.
  • Student Organization Round Table serves to update student leaders about on-campus initiatives and offer a forum of discussion to assist student organizations with the logistics of planning, securing funds, and registering on campus. Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee will be provided. Learn more here.

Pack Paint Party

  • Campus Health, 2301
  • 12 – 1 p.m.
  • Stop by Campus Health and paint something for your Wolfpack residence. Prevention Services will provide the materials needed for this fun activity. Learn more here.

Guided Walk

  • Lake Raleigh Woods
  • 1 p.m.
  • Lake Raleigh Woods is great for hiking and mountain biking and conveniently located on centennial campus. Take a hike with us through this beautiful forest path  with views of Lake Raleigh. This will be a beginner friendly hike with easy terrain.

Relax and Engage with Student Leadership and Engagement

  • Talley Student Union, 4210
  • 1-3 p.m.
  • We invite you to join our team for coloring, kinetic sand, stress-less activities, leadership word puzzles and information about getting involved on campus.

Open Climbing

  • Wellness and Recreation Center, Climbing Center
  • 2 – 10 p.m.
  • First-time and seasoned climbers alike are invited to stop by the Climbing Center during Wellness and Recreation’s open climbing hours. Learn more here.

WellRec Recess

  • Miller Field
  • 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Drop-in recreational activities will be set up for users to enjoy, including Spikeball, cornhole, Kan Jam and grass volleyball. Learn more here.

Pause for Paws

  • Harris Field
  • 3 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Celebrate being a part of the Wolfpack family by hanging out with some four-legged friends. Learn more here.

Guided Bike Ride

  • Wellness and Recreation Center, Outdoor Rentals Center
  • 3 p.m.
  • Join Outdoor Adventures for an hour of exploring the bike trails and greenways around Raleigh. Bikes/helmets are included or you are welcome to bring your own bike. Beginners are welcome, but you must be comfortable riding a bike to participate.

Student Organizations Collab Lab

  • Talley Student Union, 4210
  • 5 – 7 p.m.
  • The Student Organizations Collab Lab is a place for student organization leaders to come together to connect with other organization leaders and explore potential collaborations. Learn more here.
