About the Workshop

As green stormwater infrastructure becomes more popular, one potentially popular place to employ GSI is previously overlooked “back alleys”. Many cities are looking to revitalize their downtowns and one potential win-win option is to turn alleys into green stormwater alleys – attractive spaces that do double duty: treat runoff. The City of Wilson is converting a trio of alleys in their downtown to improve its appearance and address water quality. This hands-on workshop will feature representatives from the municipalities, institutes, academia, and practitioners speaking on the evolution of how a city can turn somewhat derelict spaces into downtown jewels.
