Who is your adviser and what are you studying?

Dr. Barbara Doll, Stream Restoration

What first made you interested in the field?

I’ve always wanted to do some sort of work which involved engineering and the natural environment. Before graduate school I was still unsure of what I specifically wanted to do until I visited NCSU and learned about the department’s focus in ecological engineering and stream restoration. After this I decided stream restoration was the best field for me.

What do you like most about BAE, the department, Weaver labs?

I like the comfortable dynamic of the faculty and especially the graduate students in the department. Everyone seems to be very willing to help each other, give advice, or just talk about similar interests and hobbies.

What is a little known fact about you?

I’ve played the drums for about 10 years through school, jazz bands, and with friends.  I’m a little out of practice but it’s something I’ve always tried to keep as part of my life.
