Reference Materials for the Exam

In 2006, the Engineering Licensure committee, ED-414, approved publication of the list of primary references used in developing the exam.

For 2007 and future exams, the list of primary references will be made public. The list does not include basic topics such as calculus, chemistry, statics, dynamics, etc.

The list includes references for each topic area.

Examinees should judge which of the texts they can effectively use. Examinees will naturally choose the more advanced references in their fields of practice and may choose only the basic references for those fields with which they are less familiar.

Users of equivalent texts have no need to obtain these particular books. For example, any good book on statistics or engineering economics would suffice.
