The Reality of the Webinar Series

The presenters do not have access to the exam and will not be able to answer that most burning question, "What's on the exam?"

To avoid even the appearance of impropriety, those who are involved with exam development do not participate in exam reviews, and vice versa. Those who develop the exam provide some guidance and feedback regarding the appropriate scope and level of review materials, but have no direct input into the materials prepared for the reviews..

The presenters are in the awkward position of trying to prepare participants for an exam where they do not know what the questions are. There will doubtless be discussion of things that do not appear on the exam and no discussion of some things that do appear on the exam. Even if a presenter took the exam recently, that would not guarantee anything because the questions change each year.

It is not possible to "cover" any area in the span of two hours. The presenters will deliver what is, in their judgement, most helpful to those preparing for the exam.

Although the exam is broad, it is not comprehensive. Some areas in the topics listing will be lightly represented, if at all. Area III.B, for example, has four topic areas listed but only three questions will appear on the exam. Remember that there is considerable overlap between subject areas, so what you hear in one presentation may appear in an exam question under a different topic area.

Finally, the webinar series is a work in progress. It is largely the product of volunteers. They are trying to help, but your success ultimately depends on you.
