Keep your mind
on your goal...
Your academic success is important...
Successful students ask questions, address problems early, and seek help from professors, classmates, and tutorial services. They initiate or participate in study groups and they work to balance studies with life's other demands and distractions.
To succeed in Bio & Ag programs students are encouraged to:
- Gain early practical experience through internships with businesses, researchers, or government agencies.
- Make full use of department resources: view photo of Weaver Labs Laboratory areas
- Consult with faculty members whose expertise is relevant to a student’s studies and the development of their senior design project.
- Seek help from staff members who are available to assist students with machine tools, woodworking, graphics, electronics and engineering.
- Join NCSU clubs and pre professional organizations; join subject related professional organizations offering reduced student memberships. See subject specific areas for a list of these organizations.
- Participate in CALS career workshops and use the NCSU Career Center.
- Attend department seminars and university special event speaker’s series and seminars.
