Amey Tilak
Amey graduated from the University of Mumbai India with BS in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering and started his master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Mississippi in August 2004 and graduated in August 2006 with master’s thesis work on “Synthesis of Manganese Oxide Coatings on Adsorption of Trace Metals in Ground Water”. After working as a research associate in Civil engineering at North Carolina State University for 5 months, on groundwater remediation project on “Use of soybean oil to remediate groundwater chlorinated solvents”, he joined the Biological and Agricultural Engineering in spring 2008 for a PhD degree. His is working under direction of Dr Mike Burchell on riparian buffers. His research is focused on modeling the groundwater hydrology and nitrate dynamics using the Riparian Ecosystem Management Model (REMM) on the two riparian buffer sites in North Carolina.
