1,128 square feet of reinforced turf parking area was constructed from a plastic grid grass confinement system. Plastic turf reinforcement matting was installed atop washed angular gravel, which overlies the uncompacted sand sub base soil. A mixture of Loamy sand and topsoil was used to fill the voids in the plastic grid matting and it was then seeded with Bermuda turf grass coated with Scott’s fertilizer. Below are constuction pictures.

Construction of Turf Parking Lot

The reinforced turf area should provide overflow parking for approximately 3 to 4 vehicles, but will only support low traffic volumes (less than 30-40 vehicles per day). The sandy soil below the turf will allow water to exfiltrate the parking area, while maintaining long-term structural integrity. Below are picutres of the parking area 3 months after construction.
