T wo existing stormwater inlets were equipped with inlet slip filters. In addition, 8 replacement filters were provided to the marina for future maintenance. The filters were manufactured by Ultra Drain Guard and consist of a funnel shaped fabric sock that fits into the drop inlet. As water enters the inlet grate it flows into the fabric sock.
The sock material is designed to filter out sediment, grease and oil. The filter can handle flows of 200 gallons per minute and holds up to 40 pounds of sediment and 0.8 gallons of oil. It is anticipated that the filters will need to be changed between every 6 months to 2 years depending on the quality of runoff water reaching the inlets.
