A computer model was developed to help designers and area planners assess the thermal impact of bioretention areas in trout sensitive waters and determine the optimum design configuration to minimize effluent temperatures. An overview of the model components is depicted in the flowchart below. The Bioretention Thermal Model is available for download in .zip format. Installation Notes: Extract all files to a local drive and execute the program from that location. This program requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5, which can be downloaded here.
