Precision Agriculture is applied to the creation of crop mazes which are popular agritourism attractions. Many mazes have been constructed by growers using an effective but time consuming and expensive process of manual measurement and layout in the field. Using GPS technology to layout the maze greatly reduces roberson with backpack GPS systemthe time required to install a maze in the field. While the added cost of GPS equipment is incurred, these costs are quickly recovered in time savings during maze construction. Read this Mazes Design Article to learn how Dr. Roberson uses gps systems to design mazes and see this page to learn about the Types of Maze Designs.

About GPS Technology

Creating Crop Mazes with GPS is a publication explaining the use of GPS technology to create a crop maze.

To learn more about GPS/GIS technologies at NCSU a workshop is offered through the NCSU GIS Academy.
