Poster Lamination
The BAE department has a 42" laminator which is sufficient for laminate posters of max size 36" x 48" inches. It uses gloss laminate because it is considerably less expensive than matte. The laminator is a specialized piece of equipment which takes training to operate successfully only graphic room personnel may operate the laminator. Lamination is expensive (department absorbs the costs) so, faculty permission is needed if a student requests lamination from the Graphics room 207 Weaver Admin. Lab building (515-6769).
Not all posters need to be laminated. If the poster is intended to be used for a long period of time or used outside then lamination should be considered. If a poster is traveling to a conference it may be easier to take a plain paper poster and discard it after the event. - To conserve on laminate it is best if several posters are laminated together. Each time the laminator is turned on a 2 ft. waste of laminate occurs.
This laminator is for BAE department use only therefore, other departments may not request BAE lamination. Here are some other lamination options:
- University Graphics
- Some local printers call first
For Small Papers

The department also has a small laminator which will laminate letter, legal, and 11"x17". It is located in the graphics room 207 Weaver Admin. building. Students must ask for faculty permission to use the laminator. Note: The laminate sheet goes inside a special paper folder(sleeve) before it goes into the heated machine. Do not put plain un-protected laminate through the machine it will destroy the machine.
