About the Lab Personnel
The group is proud of the labs work. Sample analysis is important to the results of many research projects and the analysis also provides invaluable feedback to government agencies.
Faculty Advisors
Dr. J. J. Classen and Dr. P. W. Westerman
share responsibilities in the overall direction of the laboratory. Dr. Classen has a major role in obtaining new lab equipment and Dr. Westerman role involves continuous development of systems for the computer management of lab data.
General Manager
Rachel S. Huie Research Operations Manager-- Is responsible for the daily overall operation of the lab which involves; lab technician training and supervision, schedules work loads, supervision of persons entering the lab which includes; lab technicians, faculty, and students. oversee lab safety plan, QA/QC program, data management, development of new procedures, and the operation of equipment.

Technicians & Specialists
- Research Specialist -- Operation of Auto analyzers (3 dual), Gas Chromatograph, soil extractions and other sample preparations.
- Agricultural Research Specialist -- Conducts field sampling.
- Research Technician -- Residue analysis, COD, pH, conductivity, alkalinity, glass prep, reagent prep.
- Hourly employee - assists research specialists in reagent prep and washing glassware.
