About the workshop:

NCDEQ recently led a work team to develop Minimum Design Criteria (MDCs) for stormwater practices used in North Carolina. Bioretention and Permeable Pavement now have many new design features, many of which make the practices easier to use in more of North Carolina. Concurrently, NC State researchers have created easy- to-use computer models that should facilitate the design of both bioretention and permeable pavements; they allow crediting of runoff reduction and pollutant capture for hundreds of design scenarios. Researchers/educators from NC State with special guests from NCDEQ and/or the University of Coventry in England are teaming up to train designers, plan reviewers, and others how to design these Low Impact Development practices used across North Carolina. Attendees will participate in hands-on design exercises and are encouraged to bring an excel-friendly laptop.

The training will be from 9:00am to 4:30pm, with registration starting at 8:30am.
