About the workshop:

Overview – This technical workshop investigates design of extensive green roofs to achieve specific objectives for stormwater mitigation. We will introduce the proposed revisions to the NCDENR BMP Manual Green Roof Chapter. Attendees will become familiar with the functional aspects of various components of a green roof system, with particular attention to the substrate (growing media) specification, the role of plants, and plant selection for North Carolina. We will explain how to interpret laboratory testing outcomes in terms of field performance for stormwater management.
