Graduate Assistantship Available for January 2009 new
Attention: Any student interested in studying either permeable pavement or alternative wetland techologies! There will be a MS candidate position available for you with a preference given toward students able to start his/her work in Spring term 2009. Hunt Winner of Nolan Mitchell Young Extension Award

Dr. Bill Hunt was named the 2008 recipient of the Nolan Mitchell Young Extension Worker Award by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. He was priviledged to have been joined by his family and many of his graduate students when he received the award in Providence, Rhode Island, in July 2008.

Stormwater Team welcomes new Extension Engineer new
On June 1, the BAE Stormwater Team's brain power took a giant leap forward with the hiring of Ms. Kathy DeBusk, EI. Kathy joins Jason Wright as one of the team's two full time extension engineers. She comes to NCSU from Virginia Tech where she received a BS and MS in Biosystems Engineering. Kathy studied bioretention and infiltration performance under Dr. Tess Wynn. Welcome, Kathy!

Jones Wins Award
Matthew Jones, the Stormwater Engineering Group's "Mr. Everything," received the University Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award presented by the University Graduate Students Association. This honor was bestowed upon Matthew in April 2008. Congrats to Keystone/ Smarty Jones for this well deserved award!

BAE Stormwater Welcomes New Graduate Students
We welcome Ms. Trisha Culbertson and Ms. Jackie McNett to the Stormwater Engineering Group! Trish received her M.S. degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Kansas State University this May, where she studied under the direction of Dr. Stacy Hutchinson. Jackie received her B.S. degree in Biological Engineering from Michigan State this May and will be starting her M.S. degree with us this summer. We are thrilled to have Trisha and Jackie join us and look forward to introducing both ladies to the "ways of the Wolfpack!"

Skipper Earns PE 
Ms. Gabrielle Skipper, MS Candidate in the Stormwater Engineering Group, has become a Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina. She joins Dr. Hunt, Kris Bass, Ryan Smith, and Jason Zink, as team members with their PE license. Congratuations to Gabrielle!

Team Welcomes "New" Ph.D. Candidate
Mr. Jon Hathaway, a stormwater engineering group stalwart since 2005, has decided to change his duties on the team and will become the Stormwater Engineering Group's 2nd Ph.D. Candidate starting in January 2008. Good luck, Jon!

Hathaway takes 1st in 3rd Annual Air Hockey Tournament
In a bit of a shocker, Jon Hathaway ran the table and won the BAE Stormwater Team's 3rd Annual Air Hockey Tournament held near New Bern, NC, in August 2007. Hathaway, a 3- year veteran and (quite frankly) an also-ran in earlier contests, defeated Jason Wright for the title. Hathway joins the ranks of BAE Stormwater Engineering Group Alums Dr. Mike Burchell and Mr. Ryan Smith as champions.
