Team Celebrates Hathaway's Graduation
Jon Hathaway, lontime stalwart of the BAE Stormwater Team, graduated with his Ph.D. on December 18, 2010. Jon is taking a job with Biohabitats in Raleigh, starting in February, after taking a bit of time to conduct research at Monash Uni in Melbourne, Australia. Jon's humor and hard work will be sorely missed. Congrats to Jon!

Mild Upset in 4th (almost) Annual Air Hockey Tournament

An upstart Erica Tillinghast won the 4th Annual BAE Stormwater Team Air Hockey Tournament, held this year in Raleigh. Erica becomes the first female to win the tournament which she did in convincing fashion. Seeded 8th of 11, Erica swept through the competition including a blowout (7-2) of defending Jon Hathaway in the quarterfinals. When asked about her run, Erica commented, "With all that smack talk by my advisor [Bill Hunt], I'm surprised he couldn't even win his first round match up against McFlurry [Jackie McNett]." Erica later noted, "Yeah, and what's up with the guys, we dominated them." True, 3 of the 4 semi-finalists and both finalists were women. A portend of things to come?
