Site Problem 1.
Updated information is NOT available.Answer:It may be due to your machines cache. Example: You may have expected to see a workshop listing that you were told was updated but your machine is not displaying the update. You keep seeing the same page as before. What's wrong...? A full cache is often the problem and it can keep you from seeing new changes made to internet pages. The FIX.
Site Problem 2.
I can't see a video that is on your site.Answer: Most computer today come with windows media viewer loaded on the computer. This viewer can open and play most kinds of video. Some video types do require a proprietary viewer to be installed on the machine. On this site we have a page which lists common video players and other software which may make web surfing easier. See BAE Distance education page.
Site Problem 4.

Site Question 1.
What is a Cookie and does this site use them?
Answer: Cookies are used for internet web tracking. Using cookies the right way would be for automatic registration log-on, preserving web site preferences, and saving items to a shopping cart. When they are used the wrong way your browsing likes and dislikes may be collected into data bases on companies sites seeking to target your web browsing habits based on things like employment, shopping interests, hobbies, reading materials etc. At NC State we keep cookies on so the university can use its database to recognize employees when they log-in to wrap protected areas of the NCSU web. Depending on what you are doing you may choose to turn on or off your cookies or to clear out stored cookies that accumulate on your machine. The FIX.
The Fix
Use the latest browsers-Major improvements to security are avaliable.
Definition of a cache
A cache is a collection of duplicate data, saved and kept on the machine for reuse. The computer does this because hunting the internet for data is time expensive. Your computer has to browse the internet and go fetch again or recompile the data. To solve this problem the computer can access the cached copy (old copy) rather than re-fetching or re-composing the original data. The perceived average access time is lower when your machine uses its cache and your machine seems speedy. You have control of your cache options and can change the default option of programs on your machine.
