About the Workshop

This workshop will address stream enhancement techniques using natural channel design solutions in an urban context. Stream impairments from excessive erosion, over-widening and incised banks will be reviewed.

The workshop will also address elements of watershed management, natural stream channel design, particularly focusing on design innovations, implementation techniques and riparian plantings. Participants will tour the Wash Creek Stream Restoration project currently under construction.

Stream Restoration Concepts Workshop will be tailored to a wide audience including developers, land owners, natural resource managers and design professionals. Continuing education credit will be offered to engineers and an application will be made for landscape architects to the NCBOLA.

Directions: From I-40, merge onto I-26 E. Take exit 49B for US-64W towards Hendersonville. Merge onto 64 W and continue for 1.8 miles. Go straight across Main St. and at the next light, turn left onto Church St. Go about 10 blocks and make a right onto Kanuga Rd. Take another right on Lily Pond Rd.

Who Should Attend

Professional Development Credits:

Professional Engineers and Surveyors - 2 PDHs
Professional Landscape Architect - (application submitted for 2 PDHs)

Note: Professionals seeking credits must attend the entire workshop; certificates will be awarded after completion.

Registration Fees:

$25 per person (NO PDHs) includes materials and light refreshments
$60 for professionals seeking professional development hours (PDHs)
