Erosion & Sediment Control in the Mountains
March 3, 2009
Description:
• This workshop will address local challenges and present solutions to improve water quality by using sediment and erosion control measures in the mountains. An overview of the Sediment Pollution Control act of 1973 will be given, followed by a more in-depth discussion of how to comply.
• Topics include: detailed sediment and erosion control measures, how to control sediment and erosion while working in or near a stream, ground cover considerations, and erosion control considerations.
• The NC Division of Land Quality’s Green Dozer modules, developed by Dr. Rich McLaughlin of NC State University, will be used.
