Odors from livestock facilities are an issue of concern for many communities and livestock producers. People don't like unpleasant smell from something when they derive no direct benefit or have no control, especially when it comes to livestock manure. Since, rural development is continuing and the livestock industry is economically important, it is essential for North Carolina and its communities to find adequate solutions to the odor problem. Only after we have a thorough understanding of the problem can we hope to find acceptable solutions.
