There are several methods of improving or enhancing the handling and treatment of animal wastes. Many of these methods involve the separation of solids and liquids within the animal waste system. Producers will benefit from the lower cost of sludge and solids removal from lagoons, decreased nitrogen concentrations in wastewaters and the increased flexibility in the land application of wastes depending on the enhancement method used.
