Draft NC DAQ Odor Control Strategy
In 1997 the NC General Assembly (HB 515) directed the NC DENR - Division of Air Quality to develop a plan to address odor emissions from livestock facilities
Plan will address all poultry and livestock species; horses included
DAQ action will be complaint driven
If odors are found to be excessive, at the property boundary, farm would be required to develop and implement a plan to minimize farm odors
