Prospective Graduate Students
Prospective graduate students who are interested in working with our team should apply for admission to the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, and indicate a preference for the Environmental Engineering program. In your statement of purpose, it is helpful to specifically indicate your interest in working with Dr. Birgand and to explain your relevant background and interests. In addition, any ideas for research that are likely to be interesting to us both are welcomed.
Financial aid is available in the form of stipend, health insurance, and tuition but is often highly competitive. Those seeking financial aid should clearly indicate their interest in a research assistantship, a teaching assistantship, or either. Fully funded PhD or MSc assistantships may be available for highly qualified applicants interested in in-stream processes, watershed water quality issues and stream restoration.
