Biographical Sketch

Dr. William (Bill) H. Johnson is a triple graduate of the department earning BS in 1954, MS in 1956, PHD in 1961 from the NC State Biological and Agricultural Engineering department. He started working for the department right after graduation focusing on issues with tobacco curing in bulk. Johnson experimeted with packaging containers, leaf size, and environmental controls during the curing process.

Scholarship signing

After his retirement Dr. Johnson worked with department head Dr. James Young to further his research in the tobacco area.

In August 2008 Dr. Johnson and his wife established the William and Glenda Johnson Graduate Engineering Stipend Endowment.
