Department Heads Bio&Ag People Emeritus Legacy

Staff Achiever Highlight...

Carolyn Mitkowski has been with the department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (BAE) since 1997. Throughout the years she has provided assistance to faculty and students in the area of graphics, web, and multi-media support.  Carolyn is responsible for audio-visual equipment including procurement, repair, and management of the equipment borrowing process.  She also documents departmental functions such as graduations and awards banquets through her photography and web-postings. Carolyn’s service to students is particularly noted in meeting their needs.  Whether it be printing posters for senior design presentations or professional meeting presentations, or taking photos at graduation exercises and student award ceremonies, she can always be counted on to get the job done.  Her consistent presence and documentation of graduation, award ceremonies and special events personifies BAE’s commitment and concern for students

Carolyn has also gone to great lengths to assist faculty and their programs with web page and document development, assistance with audio-visual equipment, and graphics design.  She manages to keep a wide array of equipment running despite the large number of users. 

Carolyn’s reach even extends to graduates of BAE as she is responsible for putting together the “BAE Alumni and Friends” newsletter that is published annually.  This is an extensive publication that updates everyone connected to BAE with departmental events, research and extension programs, and student activities.

Recently, Carolyn has been integral in implementing the new design and content of the BAE web site.  This effort has required processing input from the BAE web committee, department head and faculty.   She has deftly handled input from several people in making the site more attractive and user-friendly.  Carolyn has been exemplary in her tireless and faithful work these many years in service to the department.

About the staff awards: The award process began in 1998 under Department Head Dr. David Beasley P.E.. It was established to recognize the good work of Bio&Ag staff in a particular year.
