This site is intended to inform the public about the roots of agriculture in the North Carolina and show the progression of the agricultural mechanization era. North Carolina was and still has an economy driven by agricultural production. This University and especially this department has played a strong role in the development of engineered mechanized agricultural equipment as well as farm drainage, and water issues related to protecting the environment for a healthy and productive agricultural system.
