The MBAE is a Distance Education masters degree designed for the working professional. Thirty hrs. are required, but there is no advisory committee, no final exam, and no seminar requirement. Three hrs of advanced math and statistics must be included in the plan of work.

Please see the BAE graduate manual for additional details.

BAE 575 students inspect a greenroof designed to mitigate stormwater.

Normally, students in the MBAE program are self-supported. Since self supported students may take as many as 12 hrs of coursework per semester, the MBAE can be completed in as little as three semesters.

This program is currently focused toward environmental engineering, but bioprocess engineering interests can be accommodated by special exception.

Admission Requirements for the MBAE

For admission to full graduate student status in any degree program, the department requires an overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.8 (based on a 4.0 scale) coupled with a 3.0 or higher in the undergraduate major, provided that the major is in an accredited engineering program. Applicants not meeting the requirements for full admission are sometimes granted provisional admission to make up academic deficiencies. Please see the BAE graduate manual for more information regarding those requirements. The general requirements for admission to provisional status are established by the Graduate School. The graduate catalog outlines basic requirements for MS admission. Please refer to the graduate manual for additional information on BAE admission requirements (Transfer credits, GRE testing, Graduate Status Types, Minor Requirements, Final Examinations, Deadlines, etc.)
