This is the logo for the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at NC State University. The BAE logo consists of a blue globe showing the latitude and longitude lines drawn in black. Partially covering the globe are block letters that say BAE the departments initials. The B is blue and has a black microscope combined with it to represent Bioprocess engineering, the A is yellow and is combined with a green plant to represent Agricultural engineering and the E is green and combined with draftsman's lines and dashes to represent both environmental engineering and engineering in general. The colors Blue, Yellow and Green were chosen for the logo to represent the colors of nature water sun and green earth. The logo was designed in 1996 by the BAE department graphic and multimedia designer Carolyn Mitkowski. For more information about this site see site design page.
