Objectives

Program goals include helping elected officials, well owners, environmental health specialists and homeowners improve the quality of surface water and groundwater; and helping elected officials, public-works professionals and homeowners evaluate wastewater management options, costs, and regulations.

  • OBJECTIVE 1: Elected officials, community well owners, environmental health specialists and homeowners will understand water regulations and options for remedial actions and improve and improve surface and groundwater quality.

  • OBJECTIVE 2: Elected officials, planners, public works staff and homeowners will be able to evaluate wastewater management options, associated costs, and applicable regulations and will implement practices that assure adoption of environmentally sound, economically affordable wastewater management strategies that protect public health.

  • OBJECTIVE 3: Watershed residents, businesses, industries, and government officials will adopt and promote effective practices to conserve water and protect surface and ground water quality.

  • OBJECTIVE 4: Businesses, industries, consumers, youth, educators and solid waste managers will understand solid waste management principles and will implement appropriate management and disposal options.
