Teach: Undergraduate
programs in Biological
Engineering, Technology and
a minor. Additional Graduate
level study programs are
available including a
certificate program.

Research: Develop and
explore emerging bio-based
engineering technologies in
areas related to the
environment, bioprocesses
and agricultural systems.

Extension: Community
outreach to bring newly
engineered technologies into
public use through project
implementation and public
instruction.

Did you know?

Aquaculture
is an important industry in N.C. and that NC State operates a fully functioning indoor recirculating intensive fish farm operation (Fish Barn). The NC State Fish Barn is known around the world for researching new technologies and procedures to improve the production of tank farmed fish.
