BAE Advising Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I find my adviser?Your adviser's name is listed on your degree audit. Login to MyPack Portal and select Degree Audit. Find your adviser's office, etc., through the BAE Faculty Listing. All advisers are located in Weaver Labs. If all else fails, email the BAE Undergraduate Coordinator (Dr. Hale). Back to Top2. How do I matriculate into the BE program? The College of Engineering (COE) has general information on matriculation along with the Matriculation Application. The COE page lists specific course and grade requirements (the "C-wall"). Students must meet those requirements and have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher. Each department may adjust minimum requirements for matriculation. BAE sets its requirements on the basis of space available. Typically, a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required for matriculation into the BE degree program. Contact the Undergraduate Coordinator for more information. Back to Top3. Where can I find out about minors? Many departments/programs offer minors. You need to talk to the department/program contact for the desired minor. Advising Central provides a list of minors and contacts for the entire university. Back to Top4. How do I select my Humanities and Social Sciences courses for the BE degree? For those who entered the university prior to Summer II 2009, see the General Education Requirements (upper left). For those who entered from Summer II 2009 onward, see the General Education Program (upper left). The Plan of Work contains links to the lists of courses that satisfy the various requirements. Back to Top5. I transferred to the BE curriculum and have already taken the CSC programming course. Do I have to take BAE 200 ?The short answer is that you should consult your adviser and the Undergraduate Coordinator. In many cases, your CSC course can be used in place of BAE 200. In most cases, a B or better in the CSC course would make you eligible to not take BAE 200. Back to Top6. Where can I find the lists of A, B, C, D electives for CALS?The current lists of courses for these electives are linked into your plan of work, which can be accessed through MyPack Portal. Back to Top7. What options do I have to repeat a course? From the Provost's pages, see the "Academic Regulations section" for information on the current course repeat policy. Back to Top8. Where can I find information on the Biomedical Engineering Degree?Go to the Biomedical Engineering Department. Back to Top |
