About Department Reviews
- The Advisory Board is a cross-section of people from industry, education, and alumni who are involved in the biological & agricultural engineering field. They volunteer to provide leadership and external feedback about the department's program.
- Student yearly grade point average and student evaluations are tabulated as indicators of whether the students are achieving.
- In addition to grade point average, faculty, industry, and client or community evaluation of undergraduate senior design projects are used an assessment tool. The Senior Design course is the capstone course for all technical and hands-on-learning that the students have accomplished. The criteria for the evaluation are; choice of topic, level of difficulty, quality of presentation, and the usefulness of the project in helping individuals, industries, or communities. The potential to patent student projects does occur.
- Through accreditation and assessment the student and department gain valuable feedback that is used to improve course work for the entire curriculum and to address promptly any educational weaknesses in a timely manner.
